WASHINGTON, D.C. — Boyden Gray PLLC is pleased to welcome three new attorneys to the firm. These new lawyers include a former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito, a former law clerk for the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and the D.C. Circuit, and a former clerk for the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the D.C. Circuit.

- Laura Ruppalt, Ph.D., joins Boyden Gray PLLC as an Associate. Ruppalt most recently served as a law clerk to Justice Samuel A. Alito of the U.S. Supreme Court. Previously, she served as a law clerk to Judge Thomas M. Hardiman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and, prior to that, as a Research Fellow at Boyden Gray PLLC. She received her J.D., first in her class, from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois, and a B.S.E., summa cum laude, from Princeton University. Ruppalt, who holds multiple patents, previously worked as a research engineer for the Naval Research Laboratory. Her technical and legal acumen will once again enhance the firm’s energy and environmental work in particular.
- Andrew Smith joins Boyden Gray PLLC as an Associate. Smith most recently served as a law clerk to Judge Gregory G. Katsas of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and, before that, as a law clerk for Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. Smith received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School and holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from Furman University.
- James Conde returns to Boyden Gray PLLC as Counsel. He previously was an Associate with the firm before clerking for Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and for Judge David Porter of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. Conde received his J.D., cum laude, from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School and a B.A., in Political Theory and Philosophy from the Catholic University of America.
