Andrew Varcoe sqAndrew Varcoe, a partner at Boyden Gray & Associates, was recently named to the Executive Committee of the Federalist Society’s Environmental Law & Property Rights Practice Group. The Federalist Society, founded in 1982, provides a forum for legal experts of opposing views to interact with members of the legal profession.

“I am honored and humbled to join the Executive Committee, whose members include some of our country’s leading experts and practitioners in the fields of environmental and natural resources law and property law,” said Mr. Varcoe. “I particularly appreciate the Federalist Society’s commitment to robust and civil discussion of a range of subjects reflecting a variety of views, which at its best exhibits how members of the legal profession and others can learn from one another by sharing their differences as well as their points of agreement.”

Mr. Varcoe has extensive experience with appellate, agricultural, environmental, energy, natural resources, and administrative law matters. He previously served as Deputy General Counsel for Agriculture and Environment at BIO, the trade association for the biotechnology industry, and as an appellate lawyer in the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). At USDA, he helped manage the Department’s and its agencies’ nationwide appellate litigation docket, where he focused on a wide range of environmental, natural resources law, and property law issues.
