BG&A partner Andrew Varcoe is speaking on a panel on climate change litigation on October 11, 2018, at the Oregon State Bar Environmental and Natural Resources Section’s annual year-in-review continuing legal education (CLE) event. The central topic of the panel is Juliana v. United States, which is scheduled for trial in federal district court in Oregon beginning in late October. The plaintiffs in Juliana argue that the federal government has violated the plaintiffs’ fundamental right to a stable climate system. The other panelists are Chris Winter of the Crag Law Center and Professor Mary Wood of the University of Oregon School of Law.
